We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Statement explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how it’s used as part of our campaign activities, and what rights you have regarding your data.
Why We Collect Information
We collect personal and activity-based information from participants to help us:
- Measure the Impact of the Campaign: Track participation rates, spending patterns, and visit frequency to assess the success and economic benefits of the program.
- Support Participating Businesses: Provide valuable insights to local businesses on customer activity, helping them improve services, promotions, and outreach / growth efforts.
- Ensure Program Integrity: Verify entries for the prize draws, and promotional offers.
- Improve Future Initiatives: Analyze data to enhance the design and delivery of future community programs and promotions.
What Information We Collect
The types of information we may collect include:
- Basic Personal Details: Email address, age range, and postal code or ZIP code. Prize winners will need to submit their full name after being contacted.
- Campaign Participation Data: Number of visits to participating businesses, scan activity, GPS location at the time of check-in, spending amounts, and business names where transactions occurred.
- Device & Cookie Data: Device information, session tokens, and cookies (explained below).
- Survey Feedback: Opinions and experiences shared through optional surveys or feedback forms.
Location Use
We use your device’s GPS location at the time of QR code scan to:
- Confirm you are physically in a participating business
- Calculate estimated travel time to a location through use of the interactive tour map and for badge eligibility
We do not track or store your real-time location outside of those check-in moments.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and local storage for the following purposes:
- Essential: Session and CSRF tokens (e.g., sb-access-token, sb-refresh-token) required for logging into the platform. These cannot be disabled.
- Functional: Google Maps (NID, CONSENT) and Mapbox (_mbv) cookies used to power interactive maps. These are only set when you view a map-enabled page.
- Analytics: Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_*) cookies help us understand how visitors interact with the platform.
How Your Information Is Used
Your information is used solely for the purposes listed above and will never be sold or shared with third parties for unrelated marketing purposes. Aggregated, non-identifiable data may be used for campaign reporting, marketing performance analysis, and future program planning.
Your Privacy Rights
You have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal information
- Opt out of promotional communications at any time via email or profile page.
- Request details on how your information is stored and used
